This pie... Oh. My. Goodness. This pie... My nephew was utterly speechless when he tried it last year! It's a Granny Smith Apple Pie in a buttery pie pastry. Before the top crust is laid on, I drizzle a homemade buttery, brown sugar, and spiced rum sauce all over the filling. I then top the pie with pie pastry, brush with an egg wash and then sprinkle raw sugar and cinnamon over the top and bake it off. What I love about this pie is that the rum flavor is subtle, but the spices in the rum just work like magic with the apples. I suggest you try out this pie at your holiday table and see if you get the same response as I do at mine!
